This cartridge’s 130 grain bullet bears little resemblance to the Core-Lokt soft point. It is leadless – a monometal hollow point, which complies with laws banning SPs.
The SCHP’s appeal doesn’t end at compliance. Alongside its lead-free primer, it prevents any lead from touching meat you intend to eat. Copper is also extremely ductile, which enables the bullet to forego fragmentation in the interest of deep, long-reaching penetration.
The Core-Lokt Copper bullet’s lethality doesn’t end with penetration. Its nose cavity also forces it to blossom after impact – extending multiple petals that slice, rip and gouge out a wide wound column.
This round’s bullet tops it all off with plenteous accuracy. It eliminates lead fouling altogether, and hasn’t got weight distribution irregularities to throw it off balance. Remington’s 24” barrel gives the 0.287 G1 BC this approx. ballistic performance:
