The Extreme Point bullet’s polymer tip comprises 48% of its frontal surface area. That’s over twice as much as a conventional polymer tip! Its smooth, low-drag meplat and ballistic profile enable the Extreme Point to achieve a G1 ballistic coefficient of 0.398. In other words, the 150 grain .30 cal Extreme Point’s drop at 300 yards is -7.4” (200-yard zero), and it still retains 1,000 ft lbs of kinetic energy at 574 yards.
And the Extreme Point isn’t just accurate. Its wide polymer tip sits on the rim of an attenuated copper jacket and extends down into the bullet’s alloyed lead core. The tip initiates fast and ruinous energy transfer on impact, and then immediately proceeds to unleash extensive terminal expansion.
This round’s lead-core projectile is seated in a polished brass case, with Winchester’s own reliable primer and clean-burning propellant to get the show started. You name the deer – Winchester Deer Season XP can take it down pronto!
