Remington introduced their Core-Lokt soft point hunting bullet all the way back in 1939. They still make it, and it’s still awesome. But if you’re looking for even better accuracy – and even greater stopping power – then it’s time to upgrade to the Core-Lokt Tipped!

Remington offers their Core-Lokt Tipped series 30-06 cartridges with 150, 165 and 180 grain bullets. This round is the middleweight option, with a muzzle velocity of 2,820 fps and the 0.447 G1 ballistic coefficient it needs to reliably dump 1,000 ft lbs of kinetic energy into a deer standing at 650 yards. The Core-Lokt Tipped bullet also supplies match grade accuracy thanks not just to its low-drag tip and boat tail, but also its rearward center of gravity and essentially perfect jacket concentricity.

The Core-Lokt Tipped’s tip acts like a detonator. As soon as the force of impact drives it into the bullet’s dense lead core and attenuated jacket rim, it sets to work producing deleterious terminal expansion. The bullet’s jacket is not bonded, but it is mechanically anchored within the core. That supplies the weight retention requisite for deep and effective penetration of larger game.

This ammunition is loaded in Arkansas with Remington’s highest-quality polished brass cases, ultra-sensitive Boxer primers, and low-fouling powder that is formulated and measured for optimal functionality in 30-06 hunting rifles.
