Have you hunted with the power of copper yet? Surely you have if you’ve set out in search of deer in California but the monolithic TSX is well worth investing in even if you aren’t trying to avoid a fine.

This 30-06 cartridge from Remington’s HTP Copper line of ammunition ends in a classic weight 168 grain TSX. Because it’s all copper the TSX can’t contaminate meat with lead, and it’s also fiercely accurate without a slight defect in its non-existent jacket to throw it off balance. With its boat tail the TSX does a great job holding a flat trajectory even as it’s whipped by crosswinds in-flight. The TSX also reduces fouling that chips away at a rifle’s accuracy – no lead residue, of course, and its pressure-relieving grooves lessen how much of the long bullet contacts the bore.

Core/jacket separation is not an issue when a bullet has no core or jacket. The TSX’s resilient copper construction thus lets it reliably excavate a deep hole in its target without fragmenting apart. And this is when the TSX does its signature trick. As the hollow point bullet expands, it erects four sharp, curling cutting petals which guillotine their way through dense muscle and strong sinew. With the 30-06’s already crushing energy at its disposal, the TSX truly shines.

Remington takes care to load the TSX to their highest standards, which are high indeed. This American-made round has an exactly drawn and tapered brass case to seat its premium bullet, and a non-corrosive primer and low residue propellant to send it merrily on its way.
