Browning’s top minds thought real long and hard about it, and they arrived at the following conclusion: 30-06 Springfield hunters don’t like it when 30-06 Springfield bullets fail to kill animals. That’s why they loaded this fine BXC hunting ammo with 185 grain CONTROLLED EXPANSION TERMINAL TIP bullets. They’re good!

The Controlled Expansion Terminal Tip only looks like a polymer-tipped projectile. Its tip is actually made out of BRASS. It’s obviously a lot harder than the classic alternative, and promotes altogether deeper penetration because of it. The Controlled Expansion Terminal Tip’s jacket is also a tough nut to crack. BONDED, it is, so it barely separates from its lead core while its drilling through venison. And once that little metal spear starts pressing inward, the bullet’s nose mushrooms outward, tossing energy 360 degrees around itself and mashing soft tissue to pulp.

All that plus a shiny nickel-plated case, too. It’s a good time to be an American.

This round’s bullet has a boat tail. Forget all about its G1 ballistic coefficient. Consider instead its 0.236 G7 ballistic coefficient, which delivers these treats when the bullet is fired through the 24” barrel Browning used to record that 2,700 fps muzzle velocity:
0yds: 2,700 fps | 2,995 ft lbs | -1.5”
100yds: 2,513 fps | 2,594 ft lbs | 4.8”
200yds: 2,332 fps | 2,235 ft lbs | 5.6”
300yds: 2,159 fps | 1,916 ft lbs | 0.0”
400yds: 1,993 fps | 1,633 ft lbs | -13.1”
500yds: 1,834 fps | 1,382 ft lbs | -34.9”
600yds: 1,682 fps | 1,163 ft lbs | -67.2”
