Nosler contributed this round’s bullet: the AccuBond Long Range, which isn’t just suitable for long-distance elk toppling because it’s very heavy. It is a ballistically efficient bullet, with superior balance and a deformation-resistant polymer tip that zooms through the air like a needle. It is also a deadly little piece of work, with a bonded jacket and core that promote high weight retention, and a concealed nose cavity which causes the tapered jacket to spread out wide after impact. The AccuBond LR’s boat tail base is extra thick, and acts as a platform that drives out expansion even wider!
Winchester’s own 24” test barrel produced this round’s advertised 2,750 fps muzzle velocity and 0.597 G1/0.301 G7 ballistic coefficient. Assuming normal atmospheric conditions, you can reasonably expect this sort of performance from this ammo:
0yds: 2,750 fps | 3,191 ft lbs | -3.0”
100yds: 2,455 fps | 2,544 ft lbs | 13.0”
