This 30-30 Win hunting cartridge’s bullet isn’t designed for conventional terminal expansion. Once hydraulic pressure forces its nose cavity to open up, the Controlled Chaos bursts apart into multiple particles. This sudden release of energy produces a large temporary wound cavity which sends shockwaves reverberating across the quarry’s nervous and circulatory systems. The accompanying flurry of copper fragments doesn’t do the quarry any favors, either.
Underwood says this ammo is good for self-defense as well. We can’t say the 30-30 would be our top choice of rifle for home defense, but hey – to each their own. Whether you’re hunting or protecting, you’ll appreciate Underwood’s specially formulated low-flash propellant if you’re doing it at night. You’ll also appreciate Underwood’s low-friction, smooth-cycling nickel-plated cases. Reloadable and American-made.
