Hyperion Munitions is a veteran owned and operated company headquartered in Largo, Florida. They produce their Veteran Ammo series 300 AAC Blackout ammunition right here in the United States, and it is precisely what you need if you want to demonstrate that you know how to build a proper AR.

This cartridge is loaded with a 147 grain projectile, which makes its muzzle velocity significantly faster than the speed of sound. It will not damage a suppressor, but it will still produce the supersonic cracking report which makes a suppressor’s ability to muffle sound somewhat less effective.

The bullet itself is the good old-fashioned full metal jacket. The FMJ is not preferred for hunting deer, but only because it cannot expand while it digs its way through soft tissue. The FMJ would certainly flip any varmint’s world upside down, although its most popular application is target shooting. Veteran Ammo’s bullets are steel-free – no part of their copper-alloy jackets or lead cores can attract a magnet.

These are brass-cased and Boxer-primed cartridges, reliable and ideal for handloaders. All 250 rounds come packaged in a black plastic field box. It will keep your valuable ammo safe from dents and dings, and it’s an especially satisfying container to thud down on the shelf of a range stall.
