Red Mountain sticks with preeminent manufacturers’ components when they load their ammo, and this 300 Blackout is no exception. Its FMJ is made by Lapua, the same Scandinavian company that introduced one of the world’s most accurate sniper cartridges. Although plenty balanced and streamlined in its own right, you’ll probably not be sniping too much with this round’s heavyweight 200 grain bullet. Its trajectory is relatively steep, but its subsonic muzzle velocity (1,075 fps out of a 16” test barrel) makes it a natural pick for suppressor use and less deafening range shooting!

This round’s new production brass lets it weave in and out of a rifle’s action without jamming, and its Boxer primer and propellant are both expertly paired to promote stable chamber pressures and muzzle velocities. A great pick for handloaders!
