A: Thanks for reaching out Terry! This isn't self-defense ammunition per se; its bullet will not expand inside soft tissue. That said, there is a chance that the HPBT could yaw within soft tissue and split in two to track multiple wound channels, but aside from that the only thing that suits it for self-defense is its great degree of reliability. (This ammo is manufactured according to significantly higher standards than your average FMJ range load.) I do wish we had a better 300 Blackout solution self-defense solution in stock for you. That said, this round's power at close range should prove overwhelming, even without optimal terminal performance to back it up. I believe you could use this ammo very effectively for home defense, all things considered!

A: Yes sir, target shooting is this ammo's intended application. I'd say you could use it for varmint hunting as well, but only on very small game where terminal expansion would be superfluous.
