Federal Premium Ammunition is an American manufacturer known for high performance rounds like Hydra-Shoks and HSTs. Their precise specifications, attention to detail, and proven round performance have earned them a strong following among federal law enforcement circles, big game hunters, and even Olympic level competition shooters. Their American Eagle line offers many features from their high performance lines at a lower cost in order to benefit high volume shooters. These rounds are constructed from reloadable brass casings and fitted with non-corrosive Boxer primers.
OTM bullets are created from a process in which the bullet has its copper jacket either rolled on from rear to front or a pre-made jacket is filled from the front by lead wire and then compressed. Either process results in the most consistent copper jacket for in-flight drag resistance and increased accuracy with a small cavity up front and closed rear which cuts down on lead fouling in the firearm. The leftover open tip, while not a true hollow-point by intent or design, has been proven by shooters to create effective fragmentation both overseas in combat and domestically on hog hunts. With 488 foot-pounds of muzzle energy, these .300 BLK rounds are some of the most quiet, terminally effective, and accurate rounds that you can shoot.
