This 300 Remington Short Action Ultra Magnum hunting cartridge has a 165 grain pointed soft point Core-Lokt. The bullet avoids splintering apart following high velocity impact thanks to its tapered jacket, which actually extends into the core to anchor the components tightly together. This promotes the high weight retention needed to access a larger deer’s vital organs.
The Core-Lokt’s soft point peels its jacket back to deliver up to double diameter expansion, and it transfers approximately 75 percent of its energy within the first 8” of penetration. Its streamlined profile gives this round’s PSP Core-Lokt a G1 ballistic coefficient of 0.339 – enough to transfer over 1,200 ft lbs of energy at 500 yards!
Remington’s best-selling hunting ammunition features the old American manufacturer’s uniformly drawn and tapered brass cases, which are reloadable. This nonmagnetic ammunition is outfitted with non-corrosive primers, because 300 RSAUM rifles ain’t cheap.
