If we could judge ammo based on its looks alone, then this 300 Win Mag cartridge by Federal would be a perfect 10. Its lustrous case, silvery bullet, and sapphire tip make it a true work of art. But the Terminal Ascent is more than just a pretty face. It’s a marvelous elk hunting round in every regard as well!

This round’s 200 grain Terminal Ascent bullet excels at every aspect of hunting. It delivers match accuracy with its unusually high G1 ballistic coefficient of 0.608. The Terminal Ascent pulls off that trick thanks to its azure Slipstream polymer tip, drag-reducing AccuChannel groove technology, and seek, superbly concentric copper jacket. So heavy a bullet that retains so much of its velocity brushes aside wind drift until it hits a 500 yard target with nearly 2,000 ft lbs of energy – dominating, as far as elk are concerned.

On impact the Slipstream tip smashes inward, parting the lead core and shank outward in uniform directions to unleash devastating expansion within the target. The Terminal Ascent is deadly at all ranges – its tip initiates expansion even at lower velocities, and its bonded jacket and core stay rooted together following close-range impact. Potent stuff!

This round’s brass case is nickel plated for improved resistance to the elements as well as smoother feeding and extraction. Federal’s primers and propellant are always clean burning, so your rifle can stay as beautiful as the ammo it fires.
