This 308 Win cartridge is surplus from the German military. It was created for them by Chemnitzer Sportwaffen und Munitionsfabrik GmbH at least 20 years ago, and although you’ll note that some of these rounds have some cosmetic corrosion from having been exposed to their original military packaging for so long, they’re still in remarkably good condition for it. Even so affordable a price, this is your opportunity to enjoy some real dyed in the wool German engineering out of your rifle.

This round sports a 148 grain full metal jacket projectile. The bullet’s silvery appearance comes from the cupronickel that its jacket is made of. While the bullet’s core is made of solid lead, that cupronickel is strengthened with iron or manganese means that these rounds will attract a magnet. This cartridge has a quality brass casing, and its primer is non-corrosive. Because the primer is the Berdan type does mean that you’ll have little use for this cartridge at a reloading bench once you’ve emptied it out.
