This 308 Win cartridge by Fiocchi features Swift’s 150 grain Scirocco II polymer tipped spitzer projectile. This bullet’s sturdy black polymer tip serves two distinct functions: to initiate expansion when it is driven deep into the core during impact, and to streamline its shape for superior accuracy. This bullet’s inflight performance is further enhanced by its long driving band which grants it improved rotational stability, as well as its secant ogive nose profile which raises its ballistic coefficient considerably. Its high ballistic coefficient is also owed to its boat tail design, which means it has lower sensitivity to cross winds, a flatter trajectory, and higher retained downrange velocity than other comparable but less tech-laden projectiles. Finally, this bullet’s bonded jacket and core give it phenomenal weight retention, so it has the terminal performance to match its tack driving accuracy.
