This 308 Win cartridge features Speer’s 150 grain Gold Dot soft point. The bullet’s jacket is electrochemically bonded to its core, so the two components are so strongly affixed to one another that penetration through barriers or flesh can do very little to separate them. The Gold Dot bullet remains stable throughout its trajectory thanks to its extraordinarily concentric jacket, and its 0.414 ballistic coefficient ensures it flies at twice the speed of sound at 100 yards. Its flat trajectory terminates in disastrous expansion as the soft point swiftly mushrooms outward, gouging a wide wound cavity that would quickly crumple man or beast.
This cartridge is designed to still excel at the FBI’s test protocol for personal protection when fired in rifles and carbines with barrels less than 16” in length. Its brand new brass case is nickel plated, enhancing its ability to both cycle efficiently and resist corrosion. CCI’s sensitive primer assures you’ll be able to dump a mag quickly, without having to tend to an FTF in between.
