Vairog is headquartered in the Baltic nation of Latvia, where they manufacture match grade brass cases and load fine ammo. They also have a production facility in Tennessee (the state where all the best companies choose to do business, including Lucky Gunner). When Vairog loads 338 Lapua Magnum, their mission is to deliver the greatest possible accuracy for their customers. That’s why they selected the 250 grain Sierra MatchKing for these cartridges!

This round’s Missouri-made hollow point boat tail bullet exhibits virtually perfect jacket concentricity. That alongside the MatchKing’s carefully standardized and uniformly distributed lead core promotes extraordinary in-flight rotational stability. The MatchKing’s jacket profile, needle-like meplat and sweeping boat tail all help the projectile meet the least air resistance and generate as little drag as possible.

Despite being a hollow point, the MatchKing is not designed for terminal expansion. This is a bullet that puts all its chips on accuracy, and as such is not the ideal choice for hunting. It’d still hurt if it hit you, of course.

Vairog’s match brass and Boxer primers ensure precision chambering and predictable ignition. You’ll definitely want to keep these rounds’ brass cases in rotation, even if you’re not a handloader yourself!
