The Core-Lokt’s arrival predated the 350 Legend’s by 80 years. It’s billed as “The Deadliest Mushroom in the Woods” for good reason, as it has the capacity for double-diameter penetration as it works its way through the quarry. The Core-Lokt is also a tough nut to crack, as its jacket is mechanically locked to its lead core to ensure superior weight retention. Wide. Deep. Everything a wound channel ought to be!
Remington did not report the length of the test barrel they used to record this round’s muzzle velocity (although it should be noted that Federal used a 16” barrel to record their own 180 grain soft point load’s 2,100 fps MV and 0.245 G1 BC, which this round shares). By that math, we can estimate the following ballistic data:
0yds: 2,100 fps | 1,763 ft lbs | -1.5”
50yds: 1,943 fps | 1,508 ft lbs | 0.4”
100yds: 1,793 fps | 1,285 ft lbs | 0.0”
150yds: 1,652 fps | 1,092 ft lbs | -3.1”
200yds: 1,521 fps | 925 ft lbs | -9.4”
250yds: 1,401 fps | 784 ft lbs | -19.5”
300yds: 1,292 fps | 668 ft lbs | -34.0”
