This round’s soft point bullet features a jacket that is plated with nickel. The nickel is evenly applied in a concentric layer to ensure good rotational stability, but it ultimately doesn’t impact in-flight or terminal ballistics in any significant way. The bullet’s ~0.226 G1 ballistic coefficient means that it ought to conserve 1,000 ft lbs of energy beyond 150 yards. And once its ductile lead tip connects with soft tissue, the soft point bullet’s notched jacket promotes wide and uniform-diameter mushrooming.
Browning’s new brass cases always make a good foundation for a handloading project. Their American-made ammo also won’t leave your rifle a mess thanks to its clean-burning propellant charges and noncorrosive Boxer primers.
