It's hard to find light loads for a J-frame .357, so I was looking forward to trying this ammo. Unfortunately, out of the 10 rounds that were tried, 2 did not fire out of a S&W model 640. The primers were dented, but didn't ignite. One fired when it was put in a full-size L-frame, with its heavier hammer, but the second never fired, EVER.
Maybe I got a bad batch, or maybe they expect every revolver to have an exposed hammer with a super-powerful mainspring, but if you've got all that, why would you be messing around with flyweight ammo?
I threw the other 10 rounds away.
Tested in multiple rows of wet phone books
When this round first came out we tested it. We first wrapped and soaked multiple phone books for a media and then fired two rounds from a 4 in. barreled Ruger Security Six from 4-5 ft away. The rounds opened up a huge cavity after only an inch or a little more of penetration and it was at it's widest from 3-7 inches in. It was some years back but I remember the cavity was a good silver dollar size. We used 4 books ( when they were still thick ) and it did not exit. It's like a Barnes X for self defense. Absolutely a nasty round for what it's designed for.
Excellent quality, excellent perfoemance for an excellent value!
This was my first purchase from "Lucky Gunner". The ammo I was familiar with the company I wasn't. The web site is well thought out and easy to maneuver.
Placed my order within seconds had my confirmation and the ammo was received within the time line stated. The service was A+!
I would urge other interested gun enthusiasts to try Lucky Gunner.
