You’re obviously not going to be reaching out to 1,000 yards with your 360 BH rifle, but this round certainly provides scads of accuracy within the ranges the cartridge is appropriate for. Its molecularly bonded soft point’s flat nose profile isn’t the most aerodynamic meplat on God’s green earth, but its perfect jacket concentricity does secure a respectable 0.263 G1 BC and the following (approximate) ballistic performance:
0yds: 2,000 fps | 1,954 ft lbs | -1.5”
50yds: 1,857 fps | 1,686 ft lbs | 1.7”
100yds: 1,722 fps | 1,449 ft lbs | 2.3”
150yds: 1,595 fps | 1,243 ft lbs | 0.0”
200yds: 1,477 fps | 1,065 ft lbs | -5.7”
250yds: 1,368 fps | 914 ft lbs | -15.4”
300yds: 1,270 fps | 789 ft lbs | -29.8”
The soft point’s bonded jacket really comes into play after impact. It keeps the bullet more intact, thus preserving the momentum it needs to go waaaaay deep inside the animal. Big expansion, too!
This ammo’s not just great for lever guns. It is made for lever guns – in partnership with Henry, no less – and has smooth-cycling nickel-plated brass cases plus bullets that are optimized for better terminal performance out of lever guns to show for it!
