This 38 S&W cartridge from Remington’s Performance WheelGun label really doesn’t look significantly different than what you could have bought at the five and dime store back in the 1890s. Its Kleanbore primer will leave your revolver in far better shape than any corrosive one, however, and its propellant burns nice and clean as well. Its brass casing ought to be reloaded.

This round’s lead round nose bullet is also something of a throwback. Ballistically it performs comparably to a more modern FMJ, yet its lack of copper very slightly lowers its cost of manufacture. Most new production 38 S&W cartridges that you would find will have an approximately 146 grain bullet, so this round’s performance shouldn’t feel unfamiliar if you’re a great fan of its caliber.
