This is 38 Special ammunition. It’s standard pressure and therefore ideal for any 38 Special revolver regardless of its year of manufacture. It’s a great low-recoil and low-cost option for target shooting with a 357 Magnum revolver. And because its bullets have flat nose profiles, this ammo is also suitable for lever guns.
At 130 grains and 800 fps, this round’s bullet weight and muzzle velocity aren’t poised to deliver relatively powerful recoil. The FMJ isn’t the optimal choice for self-defense. You really want a bullet that is capable of terminal expansion for such an important application, but the FMJ’s steel-free nonmagnetic design does make it compliant with all commercial ranges’ ammo policies.
Browning doesn’t reload brass cases. They manufacture and load brand new ones, making this ammo an optimal investment in your handloading pleasure.
