This .38 Special ammunition from Winchester's Silvertip series is a great choice if your revolver can handle +P (high pressure) ammunition. Each round fires a light 125 grain jacketed hollow point bullet at a muzzle velocity of 945 feet per second from a 4-inch test barrel. This is a high velocity for the .38 Special, and it helps the round produce more reliable expansion to incapacitate an assailant. Recoil is above-average for the .38 Special but still manageable.

As with all .38 Special ammunition, these rounds can be fired safely in .357 Magnum revolvers and make a great low-recoil alternative for such guns.

Winchester Silvertips are loaded in Oxford, Mississippi using non-corrosive Boxer primers and brass cases. The Silvertip line includes both self-defense and hunting ammo, with most of the pistol ammunition being oriented toward self-defense.
