As with most things in life, this superior performance doesn't come for free--this ammo produces a fair amount of recoil. In a full-size, all-steel 1911, however, the effect on the shooter should be relatively minor.
This ammunition is designated +P, as is the case with all .38 Super ammo. As "standard pressure" .38 Super ammo does not exist, any well maintained firearm chambered for .38 Super should safely fire .38 Super +P ammunition.
