Please note: 38 Super is not the same as 38 Special. This ammo will not work in firearms chambered for 38 Special or 357 Magnum.

This 38 Super +P ammo by SIG Sauer is great for just noodling around at the range, as well as preparing yourself for an IPSC or USPSA event. It’s also ballistically matched to SIG’s 38 Super +P V-Crown ammo, so if that’s your choice for your carry weapon then you couldn’t pick a much better round for self-defense training!

This round’s “+P” designation isn’t as significant as other overpressure rounds’. It’s really just there on the headstamp as an added reminder that it isn’t a less powerful 38 ACP. This is a true range trainer, with a 125 grain FMJ bullet loaded to a muzzle velocity of 1,230 fps. The bullet’s round nose profile assures smooth feeding in a semi-auto, and its uniform core and concentric gilding metal jacket contribute to serviceable stability over conventional pistol distances.

SIG’s target ammunition is brass cased to keep a chamber cleaner and a handloader busy at his reloading station. This ammo’s Boxer primers reliably ignites its clean burning propellant, so you might be alarmed by how quickly you can tear through a whole box of 50. SIG is a German company, although this particular ammo is made just outside of Little Rock in Arkansas.
