If you count on a 1911 or other .38 Super pistol for self-defense, you should consider using these hollow points from Corbon. Unlike many .38 Super factory rounds, which are often underloaded, these full-power cartridges deliver performance that sets them apart from the more compact 9mm Parabellum. This results in slightly more recoil, although the increase is minor given the size and weight of the 1911 platform with which the .38 Super is typically used.

Each cartridge in this box of 20 fires a light 115 grain jacketed hollow point bullet at a high muzzle velocity of 1,425 feet per second from a 5-inch barrel. This results in reliable expansion, just the right amount of penetration, and stout but manageable recoil.

Although mostly popular for competitive use, the .38 Super is a great way to get .357 Magnum performance in an autoloader when using powerful loads like this one. It's a great choice for self defense, and ammo is easy to get when you shop with us.

Corbon ammo is loaded in Sturgis, South Dakota using non-corrosive Boxer primers and reloadable brass cases. Like all .38 Super ammo, these rounds are designated +P. All firearms chambered for .38 Super can fire +P ammunition.
