Is the 380 Auto (aka 380 ACP) a powerhouse of a pistol cartridge? Hardly. But with good aim and high-quality ammunition, even the littlest handgun can drop a giant in an instant.

This cartridge is loaded with the V-Crown, a unique jacketed hollow point made for SIG Sauer by Sierra Bullets. It features a stacked hollow point nose cavity, which has deep cuts dividing its lead core into symmetrical sections. The jacket itself is skived alongside each one of these cuts, which helps the V-Crown to expand outward quickly and uniformly even after lower-velocity impact.

The V-Crown wears a toothed cannelure in its shank. In addition to preserving the bullet’s seating depth, the cannelure mechanically embeds the jacket into the core. This promotes greater weight retention – the key to deep and effective penetration!

SIG loads their premium self-defense rounds with nickel-plated brass cases. These enhance each cartridge’s lubricity so as to ensure smoother cycling, and also protects them from corrosion in storage and in the field. This ammo is additionally loaded with reduced-flash propellant, which will help to conserve your vision should you ever have to open fire in a dark environment.
