The Xtreme Defender’s aggressively grooved tip isn’t a cosmetic feature. Those flutes engage soft tissue, force it inward, and then expel it at higher velocities than the bullet is currently traveling. The non-deforming bullet’s lack of a nose cavity means it can pass through barriers like fabric and drywall without gumming up with debris. That substantially reduces the risk of over-penetration.
This round’s lead-free Xtreme Defender (which is made by Lehigh Defense of Texas) is seated in Underwood’s own nickel-plated brass case. This ammo is even more suitable for defense courtesy of its low-flash propellant, which is formulated to prevent the shooter from blinding himself while firing in a dark environment.
