A 185 grain bullet is light for the 45 ACP, hence this round’s fast 1,000 fps muzzle velocity. So swift a bullet strikes a threat advancing from a few yards away with approximately 400 ft lbs of energy, which is one-third more than the minimum recommended for personal protection.
