Copper is the primary ingredient in brass and gilding metal – the alloys which are conventionally used to make ammunition cases and bullet jackets. Copper is also relatively expensive. Steel, on the other hand, is appreciably cheaper than copper. That’s why MAXXTech Essential Steel 45 ACP ammunition represents the cost-effective choice for all your target shooting and plinking needs!

This cartridge’s 230 grain full metal jacket projectile has a normal lead core. Its so-called bi-metal jacket is nearly completely made out of steel; its exterior is adorned in an extremely thin layer of copper wash. This round’s FMJ will deliver the same ballistic and terminal performance as a normal one. But it will also attract a magnet, so check and ask for your range’s policy on magnetic ammo before you go ahead and order a whole case of it.

Steel cases aren’t reloadable, and their relative inelasticity also means they typically leave more fouling behind in a handgun’s action. But you just can’t beat a steel-cased round’s price tag, and MAXXTech ammo’s Berdan primers cannot produce corrosive residue during ignition. MAXXTech’s brass-cased ammo comes from Bosnia, but this ammunition is made by Russia’s historic Tula Cartridge Works.
