This is a classic 45 Auto cartridge, with a 230 grain full metal jacket and 890 fps muzzle velocity out of a 5” barrel. It’s essentially the same exact stuff you would have been issued if you carried a 1911 during either World War. The FMJ doesn’t expand after striking a fleshy target, but its steel-free gilding metal jacket makes it ready for target practice at snooty ranges which ban magnetic ammo.
Federal occasionally puts their Champion label on aluminum-cased ammo – but this isn’t that. Each round in this case of ammo sports a newborn brass case with a noncorrosive Boxer primer. Use those cases to make even better 45 ACP at your reloading zone!
