Aguila advertises that this round shoots so far and so accurately that they had to package it in boxes of 300 – no shooter could want any fewer. We agree with them.

This 5.56x45 cartridge features a 55 grain FMJBT, an old favorite among long-distance shooters while they’re heating up their rifles at the range. With its hard and uniformly drawn gilding metal jacket, such a bullet feeds easily and staves off lead fouling before establishing a stable course to its target. With its gracefully tapering base the bullet stirs up less drag in its wake that could have lowered its downrange velocity, detracted from its ability to resist wind drift, and decreased its overall ballistic coefficient. The U.S. Army uses this same kind of bullet – there are better choices for personal protection, but there are certainly worse ones as well.

Aguila is based in Mexico, where they were founded with the aid of Remington in 1961. They are the primary supplier to Mexico’s military, and serve countless shooting enthusiasts throughout our country. Their methodical process yields the hearty and uniform brass, non-corrosive primers, and clean burning propellant that American shooters insist upon while they’re spending one on one time with their ARs.

Please note: 5.56x45 ammo fires at a higher pressure than a firearm chambered only for 223 Rem is able to handle.
