This round’s TMK weighs 69 grains. Its greater mass means it offers a lower muzzle velocity than the standard 55 grain 5.56 load, but also that it retains relatively more of its momentum as it resists the effects of wind drift. A 1:8 or 1:7 twist barrel will give a 69 grain bullet the best in-flight stability, but a 1:9 twist barrel is certainly serviceable as well.
Like its predecessor the MatchKing, the TMK boasts an extremely thin and concentric jacket, long boat tail, and uniformly distributed lead core. Its sharp acetyl resin tip and enhanced geometry grant even greater ballistic efficiency, so you can line up some of your most impressive shots to date. The TMK is not a hunting bullet and won’t expand inside of its target. It is not advisable for taking game larger than varmints.
Black Hills Ammunition of South Dakota loads premium components according to tight tolerances. The company which serves all branches of the U.S. Armed Forces for their match ammunition needs utilizes strict quality assurance protocol to deliver unwavering shot to shot consistency. This ammo is brass-cased, Boxer-primed, non-corrosive, nonmagnetic and reloadable.
