The JHP’s core is made of sintered copper and tin powder, which helps it expand quickly and efficiently (in addition to making it lead-free). The lightweight projectile will attain a muzzle velocity of approximately 1,900 fps when fired from an FN Five-seveN (or 2,240 fps when fired from a PS90, which has a 16.04” barrel). The JHP reliably satisfies the FBI’s test protocol for defensive applications, and will do extremely deadly things to any varmint it lands on as well.
