This round’s 135 grain Hybrid Hunter features a hybrid ogive. Its front section has a ballistically efficient secant ogive that gradually transitions to a tangent ogive which promotes optimal alignment with the rifling. It’s the best of two worlds! The Hybrid Hunter owes its heightened rotational stability to its consistent lead core and its J4 Hunting Jacket, the latter of which is drawn to a concentricity standard of ±0.0003. All those features pay off in the form of a 0.584 G1/0.303 G7 ballistic coefficient. In practical terms, that means the bullet’s trajectory to a 500-yard target should climax at just 19.16”.
This round’s bullet will penetrate about 2 to 3” of soft tissue before it begins to unleash massive, rapid and otherwise extremely injurious expansion. The bullet will undergo expansion at ranges up to about 700 yards. Berger’s finest is seated in a smooth-chambering and corrosion-resistant nickel-plated brass case, with Federal’s own match grade Gold Medal primer to take care of reliable ignition. A 6.5 CM hunting enthusiast’s dream!
