And it’ll be well worth the lift. This ammunition is manufactured by a primarily government-owned factory that was established in Yugoslavia in 1950. Now headquartered in the nation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Igman d.d. Konjic exports to over 50 countries in five continents!
“M80” might as well mean “the most basic kind of 7.62 NATO you can get for target shooting.” Igman loads theirs with virgin brass cases and noncorrosive Boxer primers (the two hallmarks of reloadability), as well as lead-core, brass-jacketed full metal jacket projectiles that do nothing in the presence of a magnet. Safe for 308 Win rifles!
Igman has not published ballistic data for this ammunition at the time of writing. Assuming it behaves similarly to Winchester USA 7.62x51 M80 (G1 BC: 0.421), we expect it to deliver the following approximate performance:
0yds: 2,735 fps | 2,442 ft lbs | -1.5”
100yds: 2,523 fps | 2,078 ft lbs | 4.8”
200yds: 2,320 fps | 1,758 ft lbs | 5.7”
300yds: 2,127 fps | 1,477 ft lbs | 0.0”
400yds: 1,944 fps | 1,233 ft lbs | -13.3”
500yds: 1,770 fps | 1,023 ft lbs | -35.9”
600yds: 1,609 fps | 845 ft lbs | -69.7”
