This is Weatherby’s own 7mm Wby Mag cartridge, albeit one loaded with a bullet by Hornady. And what a bullet it is: the InterLock, which features a special ring and cannelure that hold its jacket and core together two-fold. In addition to being so capable of resisting fragmentation, the bullet is programmed to expand quickly and widely at low- and high-velocity impact alike.
This round’s 154 grain bullet hits 3,225 fps muzzle velocity and 0.433 G1 BC out of Weatherby’s 24” test barrel. We have taken the liberty of doing the math:
0 yards: 3,225 fps | 3,557 ft lbs | -3.0”
100 yards: 2,995 fps | 3,067 ft lbs | 2.1”
200 yards: 2,776 fps | 2,636 ft lbs | 3.3”
