Sig Sauer got their start in 1853 building railway cars. But as a Swiss company, it wasn’t long before Sig’s higher-ups turned their attention to equipment with much smaller, finer parts: guns. Today Sig also loads the ammo you need to use guns, like this 9mm self-defense load from Jacksonville, New Hampshire.

This cartridge is loaded with Sig’s trademark V-Crown jacketed hollow point bullet. Look into 115 grain JHP’s nose cavity, and you will see that its lead core is divided into symmetrical sections. These are lined up with the V-Crown’s jacket skives, which enable the bullet to reliably fan outward as it plunges into soft tissue. The V-Crown is also equipped to penetrate deeply, as its toothed cannelure physically anchors its core and jacket together.

Sig loads their personal protection ammo with low flash propellant. It will reduce the amount of light your handgun produces when fired – a great help when you want to retain your night vision in the dark.

Sig Sauer typically loads this 9mm ammunition with nickel-plated brass cases. This white box ammo is instead loaded with standard, non-plated brass cases.
