This isn’t turkey ammunition. It’s Turkish ammunition by Özkursan, a company that was founded in 1987 and whose name we have no idea how to pronounce. But the language of 9mm is universal, my friend, and these pistol rounds go bang-bang-bang wherever you hail from. (The “9x19” on this ammo’s packaging is just another term for 9mm that’s common throughout Europe and the Middle East.)

This cartridge has a 124 grain FMJ, a middleweight bullet that is ideal for recreational shooting. We have not yet determined this round’s muzzle velocity, and we can’t find any mention of it on Özkursan’s website.

This ammo’s cases look like they’re made of brass, but they’re only brass on the surface. Özkursan’s cases are actually economical steel with thin brass plating to help a semi-automatic pistol cycle more efficiently. These cartridges are new production, not military surplus, so their Berdan primers are non-corrosive. Even though the cases have a thin brass plating, the steel underneath will still attract a magnet.
