Speer didn’t waste a second during the record-breaking surge in demand following the pandemic scare. The great Idahoan manufacturer was so ambitious, as a matter of fact, that they made far more ammo than they could ever hope to package. That means this 9mm +P Gold Dot ammo is not only freshly minted, but furthermore identical to what you would get at a retail store.

Well, not strictly identical – it is at a reduced priced.

Speer’s Gold Dot bullet is carefully engineered for self-defense. This 9mm +P cartridge’s 124 grain bullet features an electrochemically bonded jacket. As the result it is not only perfectly balanced, but also essentially incapable of tearing apart during penetration of barriers and the target itself. The Gold Dot bullet’s hollow point nose cavity isn’t simply drilled out, but rather precision formed via consecutive die presses. This bullet is literally programmed to expand to the same width and at the same rate over a wide range of velocities.

So high tech a bullet only performs better in conjunction with a nickel plated brass shell casing, which is inherently better able to feed, extract, resist corrosion, and be seen in the dark. These rounds’ CCI primers are the paragon of reliability, and their propellant burns clean to promise a consistent 1,220 fps muzzle velocity (out of a 4” barrel).

This ammo is loose-packed in a new mil-spec steel ammo can. Even without its ammo the can would make a fine addition to any arsenal, ideal for long-term storage and safe transportation to and from the range.

Do note that this is +P ammo. Nearly any modern 9mm handgun can handle a +P load’s added chamber pressure, Glocks included. We still advise you to make sure your weapon is up for +P pressure ammo before putting it to the test!
