Speer’s original Gold Dot projectile is already impressive, so that they improved upon it even further with this 9mm cartridge makes it absolutely worthy of your everyday carry. This round’s 147 grain projectile features the Gold Dot’s signature electrochemically applied copper jacket, which is intensely concentric for straight flight as well as bonded to promote stellar weight retention. New to the G2’s design is its shallow hollow point nose cavity, which is filled with elastomer. Upon impact that elastomer is forced into the bullet’s internal fissures wherein it initiates uniform expansion. The G2’s ability to penetrate deeply while evenly extending its petals gives it wholly deadly terminal effect that’s really poised to save your hide.

This round’s nickel plated brass casing is another thing you like to see in a self-defense load. Its lower friction allows it to run through a semi-automatic with greater reliability, and the metal is naturally better able to resist corrosion. It’s easier to spot in the nighttime than nude brass as well!
