Barnes is embracing the modern age by loading this Suppressor Series 9mm target ammunition. Its special propellant is formulated to mitigate gas blowback, as well as promote smoother cycling and reduce noise signature. It’s loaded with a heavy 147 grain bullet, of course, which attains a seriously subsonic 985 fps muzzle velocity out of a 4” barrel. That bullet is a piece of Sierra engineering: a finely tuned jacketed hollow point (nonmagnetic), which is intended for precision shooting (and not marketed as being suitable for self-defense).
Barnes reports 0.157 G1 ballistic coefficient, which allows us to calculate these handy-dandy ballistic data:
0yds: 985 fps | 317 ft lbs | -0.2”
20yds: 961 fps | 302 ft lbs | 0.7”
40yds: 939 fps | 288 ft lbs | 0.0”
60yds: 919 fps | 276 ft lbs | -2.2”
80yds: 901 fps | 265 ft lbs | -6.1”
100yds: 883 fps | 255 ft lbs | -11.7”
