The Xtreme Defender is a lead-free, solid copper projectile. Its durable monolithic design and sharp cutting edges both enable it to make short work of barriers ranging from thick clothing to safety glass. Under normal circumstances, the Xtreme Defender penetrates to a depth of up to 18” in soft tissue. And when the bullet’s radial flutes engage with soft tissue, they pressurize it and force it outward to establish a truly debilitating permanent wound cavity.
Underwood loads these self-defense (and hunting, if you would like them to be) cartridges in Illinois with nickel-plated brass cases. Nickel is reflective for easier visibility in the chamber, low friction to promote steadier functionality in semi-automatics, and corrosion resistant for added protection against humidity and other causes of tarnishing. This ammo also features flash-suppressed propellant that will keep your night vision intact if you ever have to fire in the dark!
*Please confirm that your firearm can handle +P+ chamber pressure before firing this ammo. Check with your firearm’s manufacturer if you’re unsure, or ask us if you prefer!
