This .223 Remington ammunition is specially optimized for hunting "varmints" that might eat crops, garden plants, or livestock. Each cartridge in this box of 20 fires a light 40 grain bullet at 3,625 feet per second, a high muzzle velocity that augments the Ballistic Tip projectile's ability to fragment quickly and kill small targets without overpenetrating.

The Ballistic Tip bullet is a lead-free, polymer-tipped design that is designed with a thin copper jacket and a fragmenting copper core. Unlike soft point hunting ammo, which is designed to expand in a single piece and kill a deer or other game without fragmenting and damaging meat, this round is purpose-built for pinpoint accuracy and rapid fragmentation to quickly eliminate small pests like coyotes, squirrels, and groundhogs.

These rounds are optimized for a 1-12"" twist barrel and use non-corrosive Boxer primers and brass cases.

Nosler is a high-end bullet manufacturer based in Bend, Oregon. The company was founded in 1948 by John Nosler to sell the Partition bullet, which remains its flagship product after decades of continuous refinement. Nosler's tactical, match, and hunting ammunition is highly regarded for specialized applications. In addition, the company has branched out to building custom rifles.
