This ammunition will destroy an original or reproduction Trapdoor rifle. Buffalo Bore strictly recommends it for the following 45-70 Government rifles:
• All Marlin 1895 iterations made since 1972
• All Browning 1885 and 1886 copies
• Rossi Rio Grande
• New England Arms Handi Rifle
• T/C Encore
• All falling block actions made of modern steel (such as Ruger #1 and #3, Shiloh, Christian and Pedersoli Sharps, and Henry lever-action rifles)
• All Winchester 1886 iterations made since 1915
• CVA centerfire rifles
• All Siamese Mauser bolt actions

As you may already have gathered, this is abnormally powerful 45-70 ammo. It’s loaded to SAMMI external specs, but its pressure is great enough to launch a 300 grain JHP to a velocity of 2,355 fps out of a 22” barrel (or 2,263 fps out of a 18.5” barrel). The flat-flying bullet is designed for radical terminal expansion, as well as penetration depth of 18-24”. It is an ideal choice for hunting animals heavier than 400 pounds, including Cape buffalo and grizzly bear. Order a box and see how much recoil your rifle can generate – and how much your shoulder can handle!
