What is steel? Is it:
1. Something you’re not allowed to carry on airplanes, as evidenced by the millions of nail clippers that have been confiscated since 2001?
2. The thing Superman is the “Man of” – despite clearly being much tougher, as evidenced by his ability to punch the earth into dust if he felt like it?
3. An alloy that costs less to manufacture than brass?
If you answered “That one!” to all three, then congratulations. Your IQ is off the charts! And you’re also able to appreciate why Wolf Military Classic 223 Rem ammunition helps you save money.

This ammunition features steel cases instead of brass. Its bullets, which are otherwise normal 55 grain hollow points, have jackets that are nearly completely made out of steel as well. The result is ammo that requires you to pay for virtually zero copper!

This ammo is noncorrosive – no worries there – but its steel components come with their respective caveats:
1. Steel cases aren’t reloadable. They also have a habit of letting more fouling creep into the action, which is nothing regular cleaning can’t fix.
2. Bimetal-jacketed HPs attract a magnet. Numerous ranges prohibit bullets that attract a magnet, as they contain steel (and therefore pose a higher risk of damaging range equipment, among other undesirable things).
