This cartridge features a 62 grain projectile. Its jacket is rather unique, as it’s the product of Speer’s proprietary Uni-Cor process which formed it a single molecule at a time. That not only conveys superior rotational stability for heightened accuracy, but makes the jacket essentially inseparable from its alloyed lead core, even if it has to penetrate a couple layers of sheetrock on its way to its target. The jacket even stays bound to the core as the bullet’s soft point causes deformation during terminal penetration, combining great weight retention with a wide wound channel in order to thoroughly ruin a home invader’s night.
This round’s sleek nickel plated brass loves going from magazine to floor without a moment’s hesitation, and Speer’s sensitive primer and select propellant produce a very stable chamber pressure.
