These are the absolute best bullets I have put through my AR-15 regardless of price. Yes they are getting crazy on the prices, but that will be over by the end of March. This happens every years, not quite as bad as this year because it was an election year and Sandy Hook. LG, not always the best price but always the best service. I have ordered them cheaper somewhere else cheaper but had to wait weeks. If you are like I am you want it when you order it, not when somebody gets around to it. (Posted on 3/8/13)

I ordered (2) 250 round boxes of the XM855 and it was delivered in 3 days. Great service and fast delivery. Both boxes contained only 248 rounds, not a big deal. The ammo is great and goes bang everytime. I ordered (2) 1,000 round cases when they became available and same great service and fast delivery. I noticed a weight difference in the 2 boxes when delivered. One box contained 1,003 rounds and the other box contained 931 rounds. I ordered 2,500 rounds total and received only 2,430. At the current price 70 rounds missing is a big deal to me. Sorry Lucky Gunner but I have decided to take my business elsewhere. (Posted on 3/3/13)

As an avid user of my SW MP15, I like using ammo that I can rely & know will fire time after time. This ammo does the job & then some, I like that it's a little heavier bullet, thus providing the extra recoil required to assure that jams do not occur (Put well over 2,000 rounds of this particular ammo through the MP, not one single jam or misfire). I've bought this ammo from many different sources, and Lucky Gunner is one source I will purchase from for sure in the future, the delivery was lightning fast, and the product came exactly as described. My son is a Sgt. with the USMC ; I had 2 AR 15's custom built at Holding Firearms Madera Ca. He needed to practice with as close to Mil. Spec. as possible. The green tip is full on Mil. Issue & exactly what I was looking for . Very impressive , good punch, clean holes, no failure to report. Unfortunately the $2100 rifle I ''picked up for him is in his words ''BUTTER'' compared to his Mil Issue. I told the rifle maker about ''LUCKY GUNNER'' & some of your ammo deals; I was told they get a commercial discount. I quoted some prices from memory & well... Ordered a box of these. They arrived quicker than I expected. I blasted away about 50 of these rounds through my new Rock River Arms LAR-15. Not a single malfunction.
Wish they came on stripper clips, but im planning on using the empty stripper clips from the 900 pack of ammo I purchased along with these.
Because their loose rounds I don't know if that is the reason there are small dents on the collar of each case. Maybe their denting one another from falling into big bins during production? who knows.
But they do seem to be "2nds", rounds that did not pass mil spec but are still perfectly usable for the civilian market..
I was able to pierce through a 1/4inch scrap steel pipe from approx 50 yards. (Not sure of its Brinell Hardness) But I was impressed. It will not pierce AR500 steel from what I've read and seen on various videos. But AR500 steel is designed not to be pierced, but this round will leave a scar on the metal.
All ranges in my area will not allow this ammo to be used. Especially on their steel targets. Which is understandable.

Overall they do what they're designed to do, Feed, Fire & Eject. While providing more penetration due to the steel core tip. (Posted on 10/8/12)

These are AP (armor piercing) green tips. They fly straight and true. My Bushmaster XM15 E2S loved munching on this batch. Recoil consistency was very good indicating accurate powder loads. Having worked as a Quality Engineer, I think these are Quality rejects because 3-4% have small dents in them around the annealed collar. The GOOD news is they didn't affect my shooting or round ejection. I only had 1 round that didn't fire however I think that was because I used a brand spanking new 30 round MagPul magazine that had never been in the firearm.

With shipping to my door I averaged....you guessed it $0.556 per round. I searched and compared for hours and kept coming back to LG for the price. Rounds were on my doorstep 3 days after I hit the Enter key. And HEY! Heidi sure is easy on these 52 y/o eyes! ;O) (Posted on 9/25/12)

I have yet to see this batch of ammo. I'm still in Afghanistan. This ammo works great here though. It's the exact same ammo we get here so, I have all the confidence in the world it will perform whenever needed for whatever reason. Bought two 250 round bricks. Prompt delivery. Price a little steep, but what ammo isn't these days? LG always seems to have the best price anywhere though.

Used these in a brand new DPMS based carbine for break in and sighting.
After initial sighting, consistent groupings at 25 and 50 yards.
250 rnds later, not a single misfire, jam, etc.
Will be buying more I'm sure.

Took some time to get set up to shoot at an outdoor range. I really did not want to be shooting these at my indoor range at 25 yard distances. First time shooting outdoors and at 50 yards. These were used on the same target as my regular PMC Remington 223s. There was definitely more kick to these rounds. Accuracy was the same as the .223 rounds. I could not see any differences in the pattern on the target between the 2 I shot with .223 and the two shot with the 5.56.

Quality Ammo. I noticed that in the reviews of ammo here at LG , people tend to compare American ammo to Communist ammo and naturally the American Ammo is better. My thumb rule is never shoot Commie Ammo in any American weapon system. Use commie weapons that is what the ammo was made for. The comments about cleaning your weapon after use is good advise.

Great value for top-notch ammo. I inspected every round (I do this for safety) and there wasn't one reject. My box was also a couple rounds heavy, so no complaints there! This stuff feeds and fires flawlessly through my semi-custom Bravo Company AR-15. Relatively clean, very accurate, hits hard.

LuckyGunner shipped same day and the package arrived on the third day. You just can't ask for better service than that. Packaging was excellent, the bulk box was wedged into the larger shipping box so it wouldn't get tossed around. I'll definitely be ordering again, more of this Lake City M855 and other cartridges. I love this ammo! It is some of the best stuff that I have ever bought. Clean, accurate as all heck and very reliable. You can rely on this to save your life and reach out and touch a target at long distance. I use this through my AR-15 w/Adams Arms upper and it fires flawlessly.
