Q: I am not sure if .40 cal round is the same as .40 S&W. Will these rounds work well with a GLOCK 23 .40 cal?

A: The 40 S&W round, short for 40 Smith & Wesson is in fact the longhand way of saying "40 cal". To get more technical, the decimal point is correctly placed before the 4, though many manufacturers usually list "40" rather than ".40". The precise measurement of the bullet should come out to .400 as well.
This caliber is in fact the 40 S&W used on the popular Glock model 23, including their other current models chambered for this caliber; model 27, 22, and 35. This round will also work with the popular Springfield, Sig and other modern pistols and carbines on the market.
